Toyota recalls 803,000 models in US. Camry, Avalon, Venza, and their hybrid version between 2012-2013

803,000 Toyota models will be recalled in US due to airbag problem. Just when Toyota is trying to come back from their previous sticky-pedal problem, another recall is begining. This time the Japan based motor comapany will be recalling models such as Camry, Avalon, Venza, and their hybrid version.

According to the motor company, the airbag in these models could fail or deploy inadvertantly. Affected models are from 2012 to 2013

The problem could occur due to air-conditioning condenser unit. Water from the condenser can drip down the housing and leak onto the airbag control module. This could cause a short circuit.

In the event of a short circuit, the airbag warning light will illuminate and the airbags will either become disabled or deploy.

In other to fix this, trained mechanics will apply sealant and install a cover to the air conditioning condenser unit housing.
