Google and Android installed phone manufacturers sued over patent infringement.

On Thursday, 31/10/2013, a law-suit was filed against Google by Rockstar, a company that bought over Nortel patents for $4.5 billion when the company went bankrupt. Rockstar is jointly owned by Apple, Microsoft, Blackberry, Ericsson and Sony. According to report, Google was filed with eight lawsuits and accused of infringing on Nortel's patent one of which is search-engine and advertising patents.

Rockstar claims Google's patent infringement is wilful. The law suit was filed few hours after Google announced their OS upgrade, kitkat, and Google's new device, Nexus 5. Phone manufacturers that operate on Google's Android are also affected and they include: Asustek, HTC, Huawei, LG Electronics, Pantech, Samsung, and ZTE.
